Seattle Alki Beach Run

Go for Glory!

A new course location and perfect weather set the stage for the 2016 Seattle Alki Beach Run and tenth annual RACE Charities (Seattle Chapter) ‘Go for Glory’ event! Several RACE Charities warrior runners from as far away as Dallas and Houston made the trip to the Emerald City to run for Glory and be a part of a wonderful weekend, both at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Learning about new early detection programs, biomarkers, and fund raising initiatives) as well as the Sunday morning Alki Beach 5K run- which was hosted on the shores of the Puget Sound at Alki Beach, with tremendous views of the West Seattle, Mt. Ranier, and the beautiful Seattle skyline!

RACE Charities donated to the Dr. William Grady colon cancer research lab at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and was able to meet with Dr. Grady and his researchers in regard to the latest progress and research developments the lab is currently working on. It was great to connect with Dr. Grady and his staff and RACE Charities looks forward to more ongoing support of Dr. Grady and his initiatives toward both detecting colon cancer in the early stages as well as effective post-diagnosis treatments.
