Sarah Read

Sarah Read is a Warrior and on a
mission to Fight For Life!

I am currently in the midst of training to be an ophthalmologist (an eye doctor). Over the past few years, cancer has become a scary and real part of my life, both at work and in my personal life. One of the things that has struck me about cancer as I have watched it touch my family and those of my friends, is how quickly and unpredictably the disease can occur. It continues to be vitally important to study and understand cancer to increase our ability for early detection and better treatment.

RACE Summary

RACE Charities is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of cancer through early detection. RACE organizes events around the country in efforts to raise awareness of the importance of early detection of cancer, especially for young people with a family history of cancer. RACE was founded by Glory Gensch (pictured on top of Page) who passed away from colon cancer at the age of 23. Glory's legacy and mission lives on through RACE Charities, whose fundraising campaign is focused on raising money to donate directly to nationally renowned early detection research institutes throughout the United States. Glory, as well as all RACE volunteers and members, believe that if our efforts can save just one life, then it is well worth the sacrifice!
