Georgetown, Colorado was the site of 1st Colorado RACE event, which took place in June 2007. Twelve runners turned out to sport the RACE shirts and endure the high elevation and grueling final uphill mile of the four mile course. Becca and Sarah brought the “WE LOVE YOU GLORY” banner. Even though Glory was physically ill at time and unable to be with us, she was there in spirit and the entire day was a glorious event!
The Canyon Courier Newspaper interviewed Jeromy Gensch as part of promoting Glory’s story and the interest surrounding RACE Charities. The article was entitled “Going The Distance for Glory” and circulated throughout the tri-county area.
In October 2007, RACE participated in the nation’s largest Race for the Cure event in the country as Jeromy Gensch, John Gensch, Julie Geringer, Marty Lee, and Kayla Lee joined 25,000 other Race for the Cure walkers and joggers in Downtown Denver. The annual event plans on drawing even more RACE warrior-runners in 2008.
