Seattle Marathon

Go for Glory!

It was a perfect summer day in the Pacific Northwest as the RACE Charities Group took to the streets of Seattle for the 2009 “Go For Glory!” Event, which was a part of the Inagural Rock N Roll Seattle Marathon.  Brad McDonnell, Ashlea McDonnell, and Jeromy Gensch all finished their very first full marathon and Ben Gensch and John Gensch completed the 1/2 marathon event.  Ben and John’s times were both personal best for the 1/2 marathon run and all runners were cheered on by RACE supporters John & Diana McDonnell (Topeka, KS) and Debbie & Abby Levin (Portland, OR).  The feeling of excitement as well as relief was prevalent for the marathoners as the runners endured grueling hills, long tunnels, high bridges, and hot weather as they embodied the warrior spirit and endured the 26.2 mile course en route to the finish line.
